Default [REL] rnl_smallmap_v1

As population novadays is down a bit I thought a "start up a server"-map was really needed. Therefor I made this map which I think works well enough in 2-12 players (at 12 players it is time to think about playing a "real" map).

5 objective map, 30 sec to capture
fast spawntime
ardennes obejctive style (without destructives)

this is a good map to gather ppl until the number reachs 12(enough to play a normal map, how u said^^) ..it was funny in ma first match on this map..1hour ago...there was someone who said :" whats that!?...thats small" NC?^^

what should i think about a map whichs called "smallmap"?..xD

btw. thats a good map for servers with 16slots(I HATE THIS SERVERS..RNL ISNT DESIGNED FOR SO SMALL MATCHES)

Looks good.

Though people keep using the ste come du mont lighting in their maps. Falaise in a4 had it, farm_v3 has it, I think hill 35 has it.. Not sure if its a value copy but it's very close

Yea it is a copy of stcome. I went for it as it has good looking ground+grass =). At least I didn't go for the stcome hedges .

It feels like the more common themes are "stcome", "misty" and "night" which would leave lafiere and ardennes as good to copy for diversity?

Well, ideally you'd want to just select one of the HL2 skyboxes, set it up for your map, and set up your own lighting to match the sky.

For instance, brecourt may look a bit lafiere-ish, but that happened organically because it was the product of constantly tweaking the lighting to look better and match the skybox. Sicily is a similar deal, you think of what time of day you want, you pick a sky, and you try to represent the lighting in a way that's realistic and good looking. Think of some base values, if they don't look like what you imagined, tweak the settings and compile again; so on and so fourth.

That is true Hypno, I just don't think I'd make it good enough =(. So copy copy copy for me . Stannum is the same as eglise, just changed fog and draw distance =).

It seems Snuffel forgot to update the rnl_game_manager at some point.
Now the smallmap_v1 seems to have 30 and 45 sec spawn times for Axis and Allied.
I recommend setting them lower ( 6 sec) with a custom map specific cfg-file and Sourcemod.

The thigns that especially needs to be fixed is the spawn time and spawn protection.
