Default RnL: European front

Official RnL: EF sub forum

European Front is the name of the online campaign that is being developed by the community and for the community.

We will reveal more info as we come closer to the beta release of RnL.

The idea is to create a campaign/tournament inside Resistance and Liberation where units, or public players, will be able to battle across Europe for their preferred side. As a player you will be immersed in sheer realism, whether this be, Formations, Tactics, Strategy, or Rank Structure.

The campaign will be played across an interactive map where on the first battle, the axis will have control of Europe, (Marked as red) the allies, will only be reinforced from Britain during the start (Marked as green). Each general will decide what engagement they wish to do first. Historically, you would engage via Airborne Operations, but it's our campaign as the community, so you can choose a different engagement which perhaps defys history.

We are currently requiring more Campaign developers, this can come under the following. Admin Staff, Command Staff, Moderators. If you feel that you are able to dedicate yourself to the RNL:EF team, please contact myself or J.Searle. When contacting about interest in the project, please at least dedicate yourself to the project, our previous campaign developer unfortunately didn't go about himself in doing work, so we expect a bigger attempt if your going to apply.

Thread cleared. I don't give a shit whose idea it is. If you continue to bicker about it then I'll just make it so nobody talks about it on these forums. Go argue elsewhere.

Update.

I haven't posted in a while about "EF" so I thought i might want to throw some basic idea's and concepts out here.

If anyone of you have played in PRT ( Project reality Tournament) you will notice some similarities, I'll try to explain the basics as best as I can.

First of all I want to talk about the structure of the 2 sides (axis and allies),
These army's will consist out of multiple Teams/Clans with up to 16 active members per team.
Every team will have its team leader and nco's who are responsible for their own team.
A High Command will be but in place to manage all the teams within their army/alliance

There is a battle cycle which consists out of the following stages:

Planning:
In this stage all teams/clans will have to send a request to the high command to attack a certain area on the campaign map. They must publish their intentions or else they are not allowed to go to battle.

Preparing:
When the request is approved, the teams can start preparing their strategies and train for the battle. recruiting for your team is still possible but your team roster has to be up to date according to the rules.

Operation:
This is the most important day , all teams/clans will have to be ready according to the battle schedule and will be provided with the information regarding Time, server details and who they are fighting.
If a team is unable to get their team ready on time the match will be forfeited and a warning will be given from high command.

When the results of the battle are published and the campaign map gets updated the whole cycle starts again from the top.

This was my favourite plan because the teams are still in control of there own squad and plans and the high command only has to approve those plans.

The army's will have to be balanced with the same amount of teams/clans on the axis and allies side.
When multiple teams/clans attack the same area the average result will count. So when 5 teams are attacking the same area, one army will need at least 3 wins to conquer or hold that area.

Of course there are still some other ideas We might use:

* A ticket pool, teams can decide how much tickets they want to use with a minimum and maximum amount of ticket.

* ''Abilities'' teams can use to deplete some of the enemy's tickets (air strikes or other forms of support)

* When a captured region is not connected to other captured regions you cannot uses additional tickets.

*Custom squad configs for additional mg's or other roles.

Any useful comments are welcome,

Exist

Curious how this is going to work - are you going to deplete tickets by a set amount? Give NCO's the ability for 1 per game?

No, team/clan leader would just request an airstrike , the high command passes this through, and on the campaign map there would be a mark on what area is targeted.

So when axis for example want to use 200 tickets in the planning phase instead of the default 150 the airstrike would knock off 10% of that on the battleday . <<<< this is just an example and may or may not be used in the campaign.

Instead of tickets call them Rifleman, NCOs, MG gunners.

Meh, if you want to rename "Tickets" call it "Reinforcements". Simple.
